This weekend was another good one.  We got home at 4am last night (aka this morning?) and my brain isn't working too well.  So I'm going to recap our weekend in a random list because I'm lazy.

As I mentioned here, I'm struggling a bit with staying motivated and engaged at work.  I think most of the problem comes from the fact that I've found myself in a position where I'm essentially a secretary- and that's not something I really ever wanted to be.  After hearing Sarah rave about the book 48 Days To The Work You Love  (she credits the book with helping her land her dream job), I knew I wanted to check it out.  Luckily our local library had a copy and I started reading it on Friday.  The book is definitely written from a religious angle, but is relatable even if that's not your thing (like me).  It's a good read so far- can't wait to get farther into it!

My grandma turned 90 on Friday!  We had a little family lunch at her place yesterday and our contribution was the meatballs for spaghetti.  I used this recipe from 1500 Days... and they were awesome!  We used ground turkey- surprisingly that was cheaper than ground beef at Giant!?  Not gonna complain.  This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Speaking of deliciousness:  you should also make this recipe from Bess Be Fit.  It was so amazing and so easy!  I've never been a big buffalo sauce fan but this recipe totally changed my mind.

We walked to the grocery store on Friday.  It took a little longer than driving (obviously) but was so cool to think that we were getting exercise, being productive, and saving gas!

Don't wear open-toe sandals to a bar.  Your feet will get danced on and you will lose half a toenail.  And then you will be sad.

Don't take your phone out of your pocket when you're standing on your friend's 11th floor balcony.  You may drop it off the edge... just like Mike did this weekend.  Luckily he's the only one out of the group who didn't have a smart phone, so of all the people to do this, we were glad it was him ;)  But in all seriousness, this is a huge benefit of not having a fancy phone.  Mike wasn't even upset about this because it was a free phone anyway.  (and actually, the phone still worked after this anyway!  insane)

We slept from 4:30am-2pm today.  Then I discovered the best hangover cure sandwich:  toast, grape jelly, cheddar cheese, bacon, and eggs.  Try it.  You can thank me later.

We didn't buy any drinks at the bar this weekend (and we went out both nights!).  And we didn't sneak in alcohol, either.  I'm very proud of us.  #pregamingforthewin

Hope your weekend was awesome, too!  Have you made any great recipes lately?  Read any good books?  Do you have a good hangover cure?
