Sometimes I get really weirdly specific food cravings. Anyone else experience that?
Last night it was soup. Like literally, all I wanted in life was a bowl of soup. Which was odd, because I really can't remember the last time I had soup. But anyway. Craving happened.
So we went grocery shopping and picked up a few cans ($0.99 Wegmans brand-- winnnn!) and had that for dinner with tuna sandwiches. It was AMAZING.
And then I realized: why don't we have soup for dinner more often? It's so delicious and warm (which will come in handy now that Rochester already thinks it's winter time) and most importantly, CHEAP!
So I went on the Pinterest hunt for some recipes that we can whip up at home. Here's a few that I'm thinking of making-- let me know if you have any favorite recipes that I can try!!!
Soup recipes I want to try (or have already tried and want to make again!)
Crockpot Taco Soup -- we've had this one a bunch of times, actually, and it's AMAZING! We use chicken breast instead of ground turkey/beef and then shred it at the end. So good. I don't think we made it at all last year, so it's def time we revisit this one :)
Broccoli Cheese Soup -- this one surprised me because I've for some reason always assumed that broccoli cheddar soup would be difficult to make, but this recipe is super easy! The only bummer is that Mike hates cheese soooo this would just be for me. Wait, maybe that's a benefit? :)
Crockpot Beef Stew -- last year we made beef stew with one of those little beef stew seasoning packets + a random assortment of veggies and it turned out really well! I def want to make that again.
Crockpot Potato Soup -- I think I made this one last year, actually, but didn't quite follow the directions because I was missing a few ingredients. So I want to give it another try! Also it's from my favorite food website EVER (Budget Bytes) so I know it will be good!
